Job Description

Job Purpose Statement:

Working within Lawsons IT Department, we are looking for an infrastructure support engineer who is detail-oriented, proficient with technologies in hardware/software environments.  As our Infrastructure Support Engineer, you will implement and maintain our IT Infrastructure as well as providing IT support for the business and assist with delivering projects IT on time.  The role will be office based but will require travel to our branch network on a regular basis and some weekend/out of hours working will be required.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide Infrastructure support across the Lawsons branch network
  • Provide End-user support (both desk-side and remotely)
  • Handling and resolving IT faults from helpdesk system
  • Build, configure and troubleshoot desktop & laptop systems
  • Install, configure, and support printers across our estate
  • Install, configure, and support cloud Wi-Fi across our estate
  • Resolve daily issues that impact the sites, teams, and users
  • Support and manage company audio/visual assets across our estate
  • Report issues to our suppliers, ensuring resolution in effective timescale
  • Ensure IT documentation is maintained as changes occur
  • Team player and willing to embrace change and new technologies

Knowledge, Experience, Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in an IT Infrastructure or Support role
  • Good understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, networking principals (including TCP/IP, DNS, etc.), telephony including VOIP/Cloud PBX systems, systems management, and monitoring tools
  • Understanding of structured cabling and data cabinets
  • Proficient with Windows, Active Directory and Azure/Microsoft 365 administration
