At Verifile, we believe in a World where honesty and openness prevail, so we champion truth and the accuracy of facts.  We partner with thousands of clients across the globe, empowering them with the knowledge, confidence and support they need to make the most informed and intelligent decisions, affecting millions of people.  We do this through our technology, supported by our expertise.  You’ll be obtaining and recording accurate employment, education and character references for our client’s candidates who are undergoing Verifile’s pre-employment screening process and hoping to secure their next role.  You’ll take pride in using your investigative skills to follow up reference requests and conduct reference interviews within tight timescales, ensuring that our clients have all the information they need to make an informed decision.  You’ll be motivated by achieving high quality results.

Reference interviewing:

  • Responsible for speaking to a diverse range of referees on a global scale to obtain professional and character references for candidates.
  • You’ll think on your feet and outside of the box to achieve the desired results, using a professional telephone manner, investigative skills and probing questions to ensure that all the information is obtained.
  • Ensure that all reference requests previously mailed to employment, education and character referees are followed up or chased to minimise time taken to obtain a response.
  • You’ll ensure that all verbal references are accurately and fully recorded.
  • You’ll analyse completed candidate references in order to identify any missing or ambiguous information , and request clarification from referees accordingly.
  • You’ll record accurate notes regarding progress made in obtaining information in order to provide Verifile’s clients with an up-to-date overview of the employment screening’s progression and facilitate effective information sharing between all Verifile’s internal teams.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills
  • Good questioning skills with an investigative nature
  • Accurate and fast typing speed
  • Good computer skills, including email, the internet and MS Office.
  • Minimum of 3 GCSE’s (including Maths and English at Grade C), or equivalent

Desirable Skills:

  • Customer Service, Call-centre, sales or retail experience
  • Fluent in a second language(German, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Dutch, Turkish, Arabic or other)
  • A passion for working with data and using it to help us advance our mission

  • You’ll be able to listen and type information quickly whilst on the telephone, obtaining a high level of information as quickly as possible during each call.
  • You’ll be tenacious and thorough when completing tasks, meticulous with your approach, obsessive about the detail and accuracy of data, focused on quality and inspired by completing tasks accurately
  • You’ll be curious, proactive, questioning and able to think on your feet. You’ll have an analytical approach to identify gaps and discrepancies in information provided. Able to trouble shoot, think outside of the box, use your initiative to solve problems – it’s a bit like detective work!
  • You’ll have excellent communication skills and be able to ask clear and probing questions. As the information will be available for Verifile’s client’s to view, you must have excellent presentational skills and a good grasp of English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
  • You’ll be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, working across multiple requirements at any one time and handling high volumes of data
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills to successfully co-ordinate a high number of activities, with excellent time management and prioritisation, with the ability to switch between tasks according to urgency. You’ll remain calm and objective under pressure and when dealing with high volumes of data
  • You’ll be able to work independently but also be a good team player
  • High standard of personal conduct, including integrity, confidentiality and sensitivity and a strong commitment to the organisation
