Job Description

Lawsons is one of the largest independent timber, building and fencing merchants in London and the South East of England. To which they are looking for a HR Advisor to come in and join their busy team!

Job Purpose Statement:

To provide a comprehensive Group ‘HR’ service to the company and the Groups employees in order to support the achievement of company objectives and strategy.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Softworks ‘HR’ System – new starter information, T&C’s, Next of Kin, Eligibility (i.e., Right to Work) and generally keeping the records up to date;
  2. Employee Records – Develop and maintain accurate and effective HR Administration.
  3. Recruitment, New Starter (Offer letters, contracts, Right to Work evidence, probationary periods etc) and Induction administration, Induction Folders and keeping attendance register
  4. Supporting and advising line managers throughout the recruitment process.
  5. Sickness Absence – Dealing with day-to-day issues regarding sickness absence management.
  6. Effective handling of all queries relating to company policy and procedures, including monitoring and ensuring these are in line with current legislation.
  7. Adhoc ‘HR’ projects as and when required. Including any change management
  8. Working with ER Advisors – offering daily support with day-to-day activities including payroll queries.
  9. Support the HR Manager with various administration and projects.
  10. Managing staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations. 
  11. Assist in producing documents, HR reports and presentations

Person Profile:

  1. Role-model, holding high level of integrity and honesty within the department.
  2. General Knowledge of all aspects of HR administration
  3. Good communicating, Influencing, and negotiating skills.
  4. Good planning, organising and prioritising HR tasks
  5. Good interpersonal skills.
  6. Good knowledge of or is willing to learn and embrace modern technologies.
  7. Good deal of acumen and the ability to work under pressure.
  8. Good attention to detail.

40 hours a week, Monday to Friday. 

Salary dependant on experience
