The Role -

Assistant Yard Manager

To support the Operations Supervisor in leading the yard team and to deliver excellent customer service in the yard, through accurate picking & packing, excellent product knowledge and demonstrating best practice in regards to Health & Safety. To build strong customer relationships with our trade and retail customers and ensure we are consistently delivering to expectations and needs. To lead by example setting the rest of the yard team a consistent and reliable high standard of work and drive the operations staff, to create a high performing yard team.

 

Working hours - Monday - Friday 07.30 - 17.00 and 1 in 2 Saturdays 08.00 - 12.00 = 44.5 hours per week.

Key Accountabilities…

·• Comply with company audit requirements

• Cultivate and maintain exceptional standards of customer service and ensuring Lawsons Best Practice, Standards and Company Policies are met

• Assist in the company stock counts • Ensure that stock is replenished, rotated and merchandised

• Deal with customer complaints effectively, pleasantly and in a timely manner

• Maintain the yard to a high standard of tidiness and cleanliness

• Build rapport, be polite and courteous to customers

• Be vigilant to prevent loss of product by theft etc.

• Be vigilant and to report any Health & Safety issues to the Line Manager immediately

• Deputise for the Branch Manager in their absence

 

We would love to meet someone with:

  • Previous Yard Sales experience within the industry (builders merchants ESSENTIAL)
  • A positive & approachable attitude
  • Good understanding of stock control principles
  • Team leader / supervisor experience
  • A full UK Driving License (essential)
  • A good problem solver, logically minded and good math skills
  • Professionalism and who will promote and adhere to the company's value’s
  • Good interpersonal skills, confidence and ability to approach customers
